Use of coating systems of FMP is especially of current importance for protection of extra responsibility objects, to which metalwares and the equipment of industrial enterprises concern. Not occasionally long cooperation connects FMP with mining complex. In this field the enterprise is the principal domestic supplier for zinc-rich primers and complex coating systems on their basis for more than 10 years.
For the present moment more than 100 thousand tons of metalwares and metallurgical enterprises equipment are protected from corrosion by FMP coatings.

FMP coating systems
Metalworks and the complex enterprises equipment are maintained in complex conditions caused by high corrosion activity of operating environments. They are subject to destroying influence of not only climatic factors, but also of process gases and liquids, steams of acids and alkalis, high humidity and temperatures, mechanical loadings, abrasive materials and dust, etc.
Therefore the choice of a reliable way of anticorrosion protection at metallurgical and mining enterprises should be one of the major problems during construction and repair, as integrity and working capacity of the equipment, production quality as well as ecological situation and safety of people not only on industrial works, but also in regions, which is the most important, depend on it. The correct choice allows to prolong constructions and equipment service life and to cut expenses on their operation in many times as much as possible.
It is conventional, that the most reliable and accessible way of anticorrosion protection of metal is application of paint-and-lacquer coating systems on the basis of zinc-rich primers. The very coatings are offered by FMP for using in the given field.
FMP coating systems meet international requirements, providing long-term, more than 10 - 15 years, anticorrosion protection of metalworks and industrial productions equipment. They consist of 2 or 3 layers of paint-and-lacquer materials with different protection mechanisms, each of which carries out its function (see the figure).

Except for anticorrosion protection of metal articles, FMP materials can be applied for composite corrosion and fire protection of metal, and also for protection of concrete and ferro-concrete constructions.
Fields of application of FMP protective coatings at enterprises of mining complex:
- bearing structures of buildings, shops, gantries;
- main processing equipment, including the one used at temperatures to 400 îÑ;
- power engineering works: power line bearings, substation constructions and equipment, fuel storage containers;
- constructions of infrastructure objects and auxiliary constructions, including faucets, enclosures, water storage containers, tower-coolers, pipelines e. t. c.;

Coating system - ZINOTAN+FERROTAN+POLITON-UR
Materials description
Zinc-rich primers with high (more than 86 %) content of zinc powder, realizing rated (cathode) steel protection, in much the same as traditional zinc coatings, therefore their application has received the name of “cold” galvanizing technology. For protection of constructions at metallurgical plants application of zinc-rich coatings on polyurethane (ZINOTAN), epoxy (ZINEP) and ethyl silicate (ZFES) bases is the most expediently. Compositions ZINEP and ZFES can also successfully be applied as primers in combined anticorrosion and fire protection systems, where as an intermediate layer in tumescent coating, manufactured by the enterprises-partners, is applied. Heat-resistant organosilicon composition ZINOTERM is intended for anticorrosion steel protection at high temperatures up to 400 ˚C.
The next layers of system - intermediate and top coating, operate on the barrier mechanism, preventing penetration of hostile environment to metal.
Enamel POLITON-UR, compositions ALUMOTAN, ISOLEP, ISOLEP-mio, ALUMOTERM are applied for them. High barrier properties of these materials are provided owing to use of effective anticorrosive components: polyurethane and epoxy resins, pigments of the flaky structure.
In complex anticorrosion and fire protection systems in tumescent coating, manufactured by the enterprises-partners, is applied as an intermediate layer.
Coating materials function also as decorative. Enamels series POLITON are coloured any kind of the color variety represented in catalogue RAL. The enamel POLITON-UR (UF) is ultra-violet radiation resistant, perfectly retaining coating color at application. Composition ALUMOTAN on the basis of aluminium powder is of pronounced silvery color. Thus, FMP coatings are capable to satisfy any requirements to a decorative kind of objects.
In cases when abrasive blasting surface preparation before coating while carrying out remedial maintenance becomes impossible, application of the special penetrating polyurethane primer FERROTAN-PRO as undercoat is recommended.
Coatings on its basis can be applied for protection not only steel, but also concrete constructions with service life more than 10 years.
Materials of FMP production are technological, plain and easy-to-use. They are applied by means of airless or pneumatic spraying with application of standard equipment in a workshop and at a construction site. Materials are applied in a wide range of the Russian climatic conditions, at negative temperatures and high humidity.
Polyurethane materials ZINOTAN, FERROTAN, ALUMOTAN and POLITON-UR, cured by air moisture, have perfectly proved at painting, especially at a construction site. Composition ZFES is one of the most quick-drying primers, widely applied in construction.
Branch certification, tests
FMP coating systems
- are introduced into addition to Construction regulations 2.03.11-85 “Anticorrosion building constructions protection”, section 5 “Metal Constructions” and recommended for application by “Gosstroy”, Russia;
- Have passed full branch certification and have the findings of the leading Russian test centers and the applied-research institutes, defining anticorrosive protection of metalworks and the equipment of enterprises of common industrial purpose: Melnikov Central Research and Project Institute of Building Constructions, All-Russian Research Institute for Construction and Operation of Pipelines, Research Institute for Lacquer Coatings (Hotkovo), All-Russian Research Institute for Rail Transportation.
