Description

Two-package epoxy enamel, pigmented by micaceous iron oxide. The enamel is supplied in a set: base and curing agent with mass ration of components 100:22 respectively.


Destination and fields of applications

Anticorrosion protection of steel articles and constructions, used in all atmospheric environments according to ISO 12944-5:2007.
Is used in complex coating systems as an intermediate layer.
Is recommended for using in coating systems with priming ZINEP, as well as other epoxy or organosilicon primers.

Certification, testing

The sanitary-and-epidemiologic finding ¹ 66.01.10.231.Ï.001728.05.06 dated 18.05.2006.
The finding is given by Research Institute for Lacquer Coatings with Experimental Machine-Building Plant «Viktoria».

Reccomended condition of the painted surface

If necessary oils, lubricants and other adipose matters as well as moisture and dust are to be removed from the sized surface.

Application method

  • The enamel base is to be thoroughly shuffled up to homogeneous state;
  • While constant shuffling, curing agent is to be entirely added into the base;
  • Derived mixture is to be thoroughly shuffled and sustained before laying for not less than 30 minutes;
  • If necessary it is to be diluted by solvent to operating viscosity directly before laying.
  • The enamel is to be applied in plant and field environment at temperature from + 10 °Ñ to +40 °Ñ and relative air humidity from 85 %.
The enamel ISOLEP-mio is applied on the preliminary sized surface after 24 hours; on the coating ZINEP after 12 hours.
Cure time of the coating before applying finishing materials is not less than 24 hours, before applying ISOLEP-mio - not less than 12 hours.
Cure time of the coating before packing and shipment is not less than 24 hours.

Airless spraying
Recommended solvent - without diluting

Pressure - 10 - 15 MPa (100 - 150 bar)

Air spraying
Recommended solvent - SOLV-UR or aromatics (xylene, Solvesso 100)
Quantity of solvent - less than 10 % by mass
Nozzle diameter - 1,8 – 2,2 mm
Pressure - 0,3 – 0,4 MPa (3 – 4 bar)

Brush / roller
Recommended solvent - SOLV-UR or aromatics (xylene, Solvesso 100)

Dissolvents SOLV-UR or aromatics (xylene, Solvesso 100)

Packaging and storage

ISOLEP-mio enamel is packed: base – in 10 liter metal pails and 1 liter metal cans, curing agent – in 3 liter metal pails or 0, 5 liter metal cans. Weight of the set packed into pails is 13 kilograms; one the set packed into cans is 1, 2 kilogram.
Storage conditions: the product is to be stored in an enclosed warehouse at environment temperature from -40˚C till +40˚C. While storage the container with the enamel isn’t to be subjected to precipitation and direct sun rays effect.
Warranty period of the enamel, determined by storage period of the enamel base in the manufacturer’s hermetically covered container is 12 months from the enamel due date.
